How do wireless phone chargers work?

A transmitter coil in the charging base sends out a signal. The signal searches for a receiver coil, like the one in your compatible smartphone. When it senses one, electromagnetic induction begins. The electrons (electricity) inside the transmitter coil start to flow around in the coil.
Can any phone be charged with a wireless charger?
Can I use a wireless charger with any phone? Providing they support the same wireless charging standard (e.g. Qi), you can use any wireless charger with your smartphone. They don't need to be made by the same manufacturer—you can use a Samsung wireless charger with an iPhone, for example.
